Getting a first credit card can be really difficult, especially because it’s not exactly easy to build credit.
Once you do land that first card, you need to make purchases that you can easily pay off right away so your score reflects in a positive way. You’ll also need to pay off all your debts on time or risk having a negative score.
You also shouldn’t close your first card account because otherwise it might make your credit history look younger than it actually is.
